Railtex 2009 Review

The visitor attendance figures for Railtex 2009 - which took place at Earls Court Two in London from 10 -12 March - underline the widely acknowledged success of the last edition of the UK's premier rail event. A total of 8,257 rail industry professionals from 47 countries visited Railtex 2009 - a substantial increase of 22% compared to the number attending the previous show in 2007.

The three-day show was a very busy and vibrant meeting place for rail professionals from right across the UK and overseas. Of these, some 62% were of manager level or above. When exhibitors' stand personnel are added to visitors attending, the number of industry participants at the show rises to 10,730.

This was the ninth Railtex show organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions and the first to take place at Earls Court since 1999. Exhibition Manager Michael Wilton commented: "The upbeat mood at the exhibition and the positive response from the industry to Railtex are both very pleasing. It was also a measure of the success of the event that we drew the visitors that exhibitors expected to see.”
