DEMAND FOR STANDS HERALDS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL RAILTEX

View the whole press release

Demand for stands at this year’s Railtex, the UK’s exhibition of railway equipment, systems and services, has been so strong that the amount of space initially earmarked for exhibitors has sold out. More stand space has now been made available in response to continuing requests from companies wishing to take part in the event. Compared to the same stage ahead of the last Railtex in 2009, 16% more exhibitors have confirmed their participation in the show and 13% more stands have been sold. The figures give a strong indication of the expected success of the next edition of the UK’s premier rail event, which takes place at Earls Court in London from 14 to 16 June. Among leading companies with a major stand presence at Railtex 2011 will be Bombardier Transportation, Faiveley Transport, Invensys Rail, Knorr-Bremse, Siemens Mobility and Tata Steel. Also present will be Network Rail, which as well as exhibiting will be presenting an informative programme of project briefings that will be open to all attending the show. These briefings form part of a much wider programme of activities intended to enhance the experience of Railtex visitors. A highlight will be a wide-ranging programme of seminars featuring a keynote presentation will be by the Secretary of State for Transport, the Rt Hon Philip Hammond, MP. Hosted by The Rail Engineer magazine, these seminars will be staged in the exhibition hall and will be free to attend. The formal opening of the show on 14 June will be conducted by the Chairman of Network Rail, Rick Haythornthwaite. Other familiar Railtex features will also be returning, including an on-track display of rail-mounted equipment and products, and informal Networking Reception plus a programme of meet-the-buyer sessions organised on behalf of UK Trade & Investment and the Railway Industry Association. Exhibition Manager Michael Wilton commented: “This will be our tenth Railtex show and it comes at time when suppliers to the UK rail market can look forward to plenty of business opportunities. With Crossrail now well under way and a clear government commitment to high-speed rail, plus the prospect of other major network enhancements such as electrification, the industry will be benefiting from a period of sustained investment. The very positive response to Railtex from companies in the rail sector shows how ready they are to play their part in delivering the products and technologies needed to complete these projects.” More information, including the latest list of exhibitors, can be found on the show website: www.railtex.co.uk To download Railtex images follow this link. http://www.railtex.co.uk/railtex-image-gallery For further press information on Railtex 2011 contact: Ken Harris Tel: +44 (0) 1273 300 434 Email: ken.harris@mackbrooks.co.uk For general enquiries contact: Michael Wilton or Cara Scott Tel: +44 (0) 1727 814 400 Fax: +44 (0) 1727 814 401 Email: railtex@mackbrooks.co.uk
