Railtex 2017 News

It's ten months before the show, and almost 140 exhibitors, amongst them Hitachi Rail Europe, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems, A-Plant Rail and Faiveley Transport have already taken 3,500m² of exhibition space to showcase their innovative products and services to thousands of industry professionals, when Railtex returns to the NEC next spring.

Booming UK rail market

It is proof that the recent Brexit vote has not shaken the confidence in the booming UK rail sector. Record levels of UK rail investments are ring-fenced for projects countrywide, including the HS2 high-speed line, Crossrail in London and extensive upgrading of the existing system. These are all generating business opportunities throughout the supply chain, which will remain a priority for years to come.

Electrification of main lines, modernisation of signalling systems and procurement of new rolling stock to handle ever increasing passenger numbers all feature in current investment programmes. Transport for London also represents a key market, with new trains being acquired, extension of the Northern Line of the Underground and a growing role in the management of the city’s suburban lines.
